Choose TRUTH Over FACT

It is imperative that as children of God we are able to decipher the difference between fact and truth. The world’s system of operation is full of ever changing knowledge. However, much of this knowledge is obtained with the absence of understanding real truth. For example, there are medical studies that support the notion that drinking red wine helps cure cancer. On the other hand, there are studies that completely refute this idea, saying that red wine actually causes some forms of cancers. Now both of these studies have legitimate research, and may be factual in nature. But, the TRUTH of the matter is that Jesus took every illness, affliction, and ailment with Him to the cross and by His stripes we are all healed (Isaiah 53:5)! Furthermore, as Christians we have all been promised abundant life (John 10:10); which includes healthy, illness free living.

Too many believers remain stagnant in their lives because they habitually put complete faith in fact instead of God’s truth. Thus, fear becomes the motivation for everything that they do. However, when fear is the catalyst for action it only leads to bondage in the very thing that is feared. Job said “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me” (Job 3:25). Which illustrates that fear directly connects us to our fears, just like faith directly connects us with blessings.

Accordingly, Satan uses our emotions as the channel to get us operating in the facts of our reality instead of in the Truth of God’s promises. So the next time you feel anxious, worried, nervous, or fearful about a circumstantial fact, take the time to see what God has to say about it. Then begin to verbally proclaim and meditate on God’s truth and watch yourself directly connect to God’s fact overriding power!

Be blessed good people.

Get To Plantin'!!!

“Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.” 2 Corinthians 9:10 NIV
After hearing bits and pieces of a sermon while I got dressed this morning one passage of scripture stuck out to me and I began to turn it over in my mind. By meditating on this Word, revelation from the Holy Spirit was given to me. “God gives seed to the sower” (2 Corinthians 9:10). Many of us have heard this passage once before, but never had I understood it more clearly than today.

In the entire chapter of 2 Corinthians 9 Paul speaks about the blessings of God; those things reserved for the righteous. However, where many fall short in receiving the blessings of God is in their sowing obligations. This message is timely because we are in the middle of the natural fall harvest season. When looking at the agricultural system, farmers plant during a certain time of year so that, come fall, they have a bountiful harvest. This is necessary for Christians to do as well when we sow into the kingdom of God. The ways that we can sow is in our giving; whether monetarily, time, service, commitment, praise, worship, etc. Accordingly, anything that we do for our brothers and sisters on behalf of Christ is our seed.

But, for many believers, our seed never makes it into the ground. We give our tithes, but no offering. We spend our time, but with the wrong attitude. We praise and worship God, but only when we want things. So just like birds we eat our seeds before they make it into the ground.

Now the scripture says that God gives seed to the sower; which means that people who are good stewards over God’s money, time, and worship will abound with more seed. So, spectators cannot be upset with people who have tapped into the success of God’s fool-proof sewing and reaping formula. [I used “formula” for lack of a better word. So, to perform this “formula” with the wrong motives will benefit you nothing at all either. God checks heart motivation and manipulation is not a fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22)] God desires to bless His people, but we must sow into fertile ground if we expect to reap in due season. This is why the scriptures say that “it’s more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35) because when we are on the giving end of the equation we are so over and abundantly blessed that we must be a blessing to others to level out our bursting storehouses. So get to plantin’ and stop complaining!

PSA: Check Your Form

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (2Timothy 3:1-5)

Have you ever found yourself in the company of Christians, and later found out that you were actually in the presence of “Christians”? Now some may not understand the difference, but I am here to explain. I have come to the realization that many today who claim (verbally) to be Christians are Judas Iscariot’s in the flesh. Who is Judas you ask; read your Bible! As God begins to expand my territory of ministry I have come into contact with some real characters. I mean these folks have the “saved” act down pat! It is for this reason, among a plethora of others, why I truly love the Holy Spirit. He is truly my Guide when it comes to testing the spirits of so called “Christians”.

Daily, I am more and more, baffled by the boldness of these devils wearing Christian clothing. In the past sixty days I have heard and witnessed true accounts of “Christians” stealing, fornicating, lying; and basically, doing everything that God has forbidden His children to do! What is up with that?! I have always had this stance on people and their identities: I rather people be upfront about who they are initially. If you’re a murderer, slanderer, cheater, bigot; hey, just let me know! That will not stop me from loving you, but it will DEFINITELY help me in compartmentalizing our relationship.

The entire chapter of 2Timothy 3 warns us about the type of “Christians” that will be encountered in the last days. But, verse 5 truly pinpointed the major problem with individuals such as these. Paul said that these people have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof. That’s it! I have grown completely leery of folks who claim to be in the Body; but resemble no lifestyle attributes of Christ. When did God approve of homosexuality, pre-marital sex, back-biting, stealing, and manipulating? Where they do that at?! If you were affiliated with any worldly organization, but acted nothing like other members you would get the boot (Don’t let the door hit ya…)! So why do Christians lack loyalty in following rules and regulations mandated by God?

This entry was meant as a PSA: Wake Up Call! Check your form people! Are you really who you say you are in Christ? Either way the answers fall, if you’re truthful, God can work with that. However, if you’re a comfortable wolf in a fleece exterior, still keep it real. Because you can bet that I’m real about my identity, and I will put the Word on you either way. I AM NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST!

Peace.

Heartbreak Hotel

I woke up this morning with Whitney Houston’s Heartbreak Hotel in my spirit. I mean I was humming it in the shower and I just couldn’t seem to shake the chorus of that song. Finally, I asked God why am I singing this song? I am not heartbroken! Well, I decided to look up the lyrics to the song and realized what God was trying to reveal to me about the condition of His relationship with His people.

The lines of the chorus say:

Since you’re not around for me to tell me baby face to face

I’m writing you this letter and this is what I have to say:

All I really wanted was some of your time

Instead you told me lies when someone else was on your mind

Thought that you were someone who would do me right

Until you played with my emotions and you made me cry

Courtesy of Lyrics.com

When I read these words I immediately sensed the sadness that God feels about the condition of hearts present in today’s world. God made us in His image, but men grow more evil daily. We refuse to read the letter (Bible) that He wrote us, and are constantly at fault because of neglect and idolatry. God is heartbroken that His creation has not only turned against Him, but for everything that He stands for. People are more concerned with conducting lives pleasing to fleshly desires than being obedient to the Word of God. Wow!

Some may feel after reading this that to compare God’s feelings to an R&B song is unintelligible. But, please understand that God is not pleased with the condition of people in this world. As Christians we are to daily let our lights shine so that men may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16). However, where are your lights people of God? We cannot allow ourselves to become self-absorbed in our own agendas and miss the signs of the time. God is soon to come. Therefore, understand that you will be held accountable for your actions and heart motivations, and if they are not in line with the motivations of God you will be denied access into the Kingdom.

Let’s be mindful of our hearts people of God. Guard them because from our hearts flow the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23). We cannot afford to break our Creator’s heart in these last days. He’s counting on us to remain the center of His affection, while bringing others into the fold. Think about it.

Be blessed good people.

Work Your Gifts!

Seasons change, situations evolve, and personalities mature. As I find myself emerging into this new environment the excitement of it all is somewhat contagious. While contemplating the happenings of today, the hot sensation of newness and exhilaration raced through my body. I ♥ Georgia and am so happy that I followed instructions and moved to this state. I will always be a Floridian at heart, BUT Atlanta is beginning to grow on me. I can hear the skeptics saying, “Girl, it’s only been two months.” But, in that short period of time there is something about the energy and momentum of this city that keeps me thrilled.

My new location helped me realize that God has a uniquely special plan for my life. And the awesome thing about it is that only I can do it! With that said there comes a time in everyone’s life when we just have to “make it do what it do.” Let’s ride the wave of our full potential. God has given us all gifts and talents to use for the up building of the Kingdom. However, it’s up to us to take advantage of those impartations. One day God gave me the revelation of the scripture “The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord" (Psalm 37:23). He told me plain and simple that the outcome of ordered steps is dependent upon the one with the feet. Amazing! Subsequently, many of us wait around for God to drop things out of the sky when God is waiting for us to be proactive and use what He has already downloaded into our spirits via the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, let’s get out people and make it happen. Stop sitting around longing to be delivered from your current circumstances because true delivery requires action. So if you want the baby out—push! Not to be crude in my analogy, but Christians have to get active. Let’s start writing those business plans, paying down debt, working those diet plans, and showing the world what it’s like to be on the Winning Side. People of God, we have to take our evangelism to another level. If we are busted and disgusted, depressed and penniless, why would the lost world want to be saved? Therefore, be an inspirational example of what happens when acquired spiritual and practical wisdom are combined.

Let’s go people of God. I want to see us in every arena. I want it to get to the point that the woman who waxes my eyebrows and the brother who paints the wall in my house are both Christian entrepreneurs handling business!

Let’s Go!
