The Idolatry of God

With first glance at the title, this phrase may seem oxymoronic because aren’t Christians to idolize God. Well, the short answer to that inquiry is yes AND no. Allow me to explain. Through study of God’s word and observation of current societal trends I have noticed a growing enticement of Satan’s deception. And this one is so completely twisted, because it involves the use of the Creator Himself. There are several individuals who identify with the Christian faith and would go as far to deem themselves “Christians”. However, in the words of the Father, “…this people draw near Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips but remove their hearts and minds far from Me, and their fear and reverence for Me are a commandment of men that is learned by repetition [without any thought as to the meaning].”(Isaiah 29:13 AMP)

Wow! There are literally establishments of Christian origin where parishioners worship God and partake in the many traditions of Christianity (communion, washing of feet, casting out of spirits, praying, fasting, etc.), but their practiced mechanics lack heart. People in such churches and organizations have been a part of this charades game for so long that they are oblivious to the fact that GOD is not associated with their worship. They are being led by demons, seducing spirits, familiar spirits, and those who impersonate the acts of God; and are completely clueless! Don’t think for two seconds that demons can’t preach the house down like any other godly preacher—it’s possible, and it’s happening!

I’ll prove it. Think back for a moment to Moses in the Bible. When He was sent to Pharaoh by God to demand that He set the children of Israel free, remember what happened? Every sign and wonder God gave Moses to perform (rod turning to serpent, turning Nile river to blood, etc.), Pharaoh had his own team of magicians who were capable of the same thing (see Exodus 7)! This is still present today people. Satan has up’d the ante and is using the Prince of Peace to push his product to those immune to the detriments of “rules and regulations” Christianity. It is imperative that as Christians we know God, and not just know about Him. We must formulate a personal relationship with Him through daily Bible reading, prayer, meditation on the Word of God, and routine dying to self. For this is the only way we give God the pure worship that He requires of His followers (see John 4:24).

It’s amazing the number of “believers” I come into contact with who live in fear, follow their own desires and lusts, habitually live in sin, and hate earthly brothers and sisters, and yet call themselves Christians. NOT SO! God is making the separation between those who truly love Him (see John 14:15; 21; 23) and those who mechanically worship Him like any other genie or lucky charm. It’s time to know for certain that you follow the true and living God, and not a watered down version of him being superimposed by your local community demon. This battle is real and you better know for certain that God knows you because of the personal relationship that validates you as His.

Wearing a crucifix around your neck is no longer going to cut the mustard. As a matter of fact take that off because Christ is alive, well, and waiting for your pure and unadulterated worship!

Serving "Good Works" Idols

As I embark on day four of my forty day “Purpose Driven Life” journey, I am startled at the importance placed on properly prioritizing things in my life. Chapter 4 of The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren is entitled Made to Last Forever. And as a devout Christian, this notion of eternity is internalized in my thinking. It is the ultimate goal of my existence on earth to do the works of the Father so that I will one day hear “well done my good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:14-30). However, in my journaling session after reading this chapter I realized that there are honorable and less honorable priorities. And my list looked something like this:

Honorable                                                           Less Honorable

Spreading the Gospel                                          gossiping

Loving                                                                 hoarding

Giving                                                                 establishing “good works” gods

Serving

Getting over myself

Now the last entry in the Less Honorable category was prompted by “straight Holy Ghost” (as my sister would say) because after I wrote it, all I could write next was WOW! I repeated the phrase over and over in my mind, and realized that I would create tally systems for “good works” I’ve done, and then present them to God, and wait patiently for my “just reward”. Now, this is deep! See what happens for most Christians is that we equate our “reasonable service” to God as our faith+works=results equation. Then we enter into prayer repeatedly identifying to God all the “good works” that we have done for Him. However, what God answers is that this is your “reasonable service” (see Romans 12:1) to Me since I didn’t wipe you off the face of the earth (a second time), but instead sent my sinless Son to die. Wow!

This revelation is truly an eye opener (even as I type) because I realize just how arrogant and deceptive the human flesh really is. It, unknowingly to our soul (mind, emotions, and will), can (and will) create idols of seemingly “good” intention and then present them at the feet of a holy Heavenly Father! Wow, the audacity of the flesh! Hence, flesh must be daily put under the subjection of God’s Word. However, if we only occasionally read the Bible we will only occasionally experience the reflective qualities of “look at what you’re doing, saying, and believing” that Truth provides.

The flesh is sneaky, and, if allowed to, it will feed on the subtle deceptions of the enemy freely. But thank God for the spirit who knows all things because of connection to the Holy Spirit! This was an eye opener for me good people, which led straight to the throne room in repentance to the Father. I suggest you follow suit if you qualify. Then, we can seek guidance on how to properly worship God with our lives.

Be not deceived. God is soon to come and the enemy is trying everything to get YOU to spend eternity with him in hell. Keep your mirror (the Word) turned on yourself daily as to see what God sees, so that with His help all blemishes, spots, and wrinkles are removed and wiped clean!

Blessings,

Where’s the Cross?!

As I observe the status of today’s Church (community of Christian believers) I am shocked to notice a growing detrimental trend. With an attempt to remain current or up to date in worldly standards Christians have declined recognition of the Cross. Church sermons don’t reference it, it’s absent from Christian media broadcasts, and is scarcely found in today’s gospel music. With all that said, I am left asking one question; where they do that at?! How can one proclaim Christianity, but neglect to reference the very foundation of the religion?

I am so sick and tired of hearing gospel music that doesn’t even mention The Gospel! When Jesus commissioned us to go out and be fishers of men He commanded us to spread the Good News of freedom found in the Cross. As Christians we are given a second chance at life because of our belief in the Son who defeated the grips of death. But, when we eliminate talking about Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection from the grave what exactly are we doing?

I’ll tell you what, and the answer is not pretty. Without Christ (and the Cross) as the center of Christian worship, believers are practicing idolatry and witchcraft! Yes, I said it because many have been deceived into thinking because certain spiritual manifestations occur within their church services that God is in the midst. The devil is sho’ nuff a liar! Check your scriptures people and go back to the training of Moses before he was released to set the captives free from Egypt. Everything that he was given power to do by God was also accomplished by those who were not God fearing in the least! So, because something seems like a move of God does not necessarily mean that it is from Him. And I can with accurate proclamation say that if your church services are a foot stomping, praise shouting, good time ,without mention of sin and salvation provided by the cross, you have been demonically hoodwinked!

So I say all of that to say this, make sure your worship is of the Son who died for all sins on the Cross. When we leave out Calvary we leave out salvation, which could only result in death in hell’s fire!

The cross people! The cross!!!!

Idolatry by Another Name: Fraternities and Sororities

This one may sting a bit, but conviction leads to correction. This post is for all of my sorors and frats. It is imperative that you understand that to worship any other form, organization, pledge, oath etc other than God Almighty is a form of idolatry. Now I already hear the objections that many may have, but when you look at the facts and reference the history, practices, and oaths of these organizations with the Word of God IT IS WHAT IT I-S IS! Idolatry by another name.

As I sat and watched the circle of sorority sisters sing to and embrace the sisters who had graduated, something about the whole festive nature of the event disturbed me. There had to be about 30 or so girls of different ages, and they sung a medley of, at least, ten songs. As I listened to the lyrics and observed the dances that accompanied them, I never once heard the mention of God. The songs lifted up the name of the sorority, the animal which represented the organization, and the date in which the group was founded. Now I am a very logical person; thus, for one to stand (in high heels might I add), sing and dance in 90 degree weather to some animal who has no power, is insane to me! Moreover, what makes this any different from the people of Israel in the wilderness who built, worshiped, sang and danced around the golden calf while Moses was on the mountain?

Now I understand the reasoning for why so many people join these types of organizations; networking, brotherhood/sisterhood, promotion, etc. But, simply stated these organizations (especially the pledges and oaths) are not of God. Yes, they all may sprinkle in some biblical proverbs, but this holds no weight because Satan can quote the Bible verbatim. People of God, you do not need some organization to promote you to the next level because my Bible clearly states that promotion comes neither from the east, west, north, or south but from God (Psalm 75:6-7)! Therefore, stop shifting the focus from the One who truly initiates your success (the Father), to some organization based around an animal! God is not pleased good people! He is a jealous God. With that said, and without further ado I would like to introduce you to the ONLY righteous and eternal fraternity/sorority: Team Alpha and Omega! All are welcome to join!!!!

Peace
